Holland Lake

Went out there this past weekend. Had amazing luck Using a small jig head and a Slip bobber in about 10-15 feet of water. Small crappie minnows off the dock produced a few smaller crappies but around the bend into the back bay was the real deal. In about 8-10 feet of water just as it got dark the magic started. about 9:30 with floating/ Lighted bobbers I hooked into a real good school. With some close to a pound some real nice crappies and i encourage anyone in the area to really get out there.

Tried fishing Minnetonka Sunday. Caught 2 crappie in the first 10 minutes and nothing for the next 3 hours. The fish appear to be in 5-10 feet in the weeds on main lake areas. We tried the typical shallow spring areas and didn't get a bite. Hoping they will move shallow by this weekend. The docks at the boat landing weren't out yet as of Sunday. Good luck. Just thought I'd share our experience.

Holland Lake

Crappies have been hitting 1/64oz orange glow jigs tipped with a crappie minnow, between 3pm and 6:30, all winter long. Recently, action has slowed to just 5 or 6 fish per outing, down from 10 or 15 fish per outing. Best action is in 30 feet, fish suspending about 4-10ft off the bottom. On average, 1 fish in 10 is worth keeping. (I guess it all depends on how good you are with a filet knife or what your goals are in terms of filling up your freezer) If you don't have a color flasher, you'll be disappointed on this lake.

fettski, there is a way on to cross from a road downtown,by the park, and a bar dont know the name ,anyways go out from there follow the road out (cant miss)drive around the point you will see some fishoues by shore go past them a little bit then cut right there should be some fishouses or people out there ,fish on south side in about 22ft of water ,auger holes in circle pattern ,drop a glow with minnow or a jig with waxie find them and set up there the crappies move around a little so you do have some slow times unless you move around,as for biting at night ,never made it that far allways limited out quickly on 10-11inchers.

Wallguy,

Would you be so kind and to help me with a lead to the closest lake access to the spot you are talking about on Cross. My inlaws have a cabin on Daggot(North side of the cross chain)and I have never gone on Cross without a boat. I am looking to introduce my wife and young daughter to ice fishing. I think this would be a good introduction! I appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks a ton and good luck in the future! p.s. Any luck after dark on those crappies?
