Upper_Red_LakeSounds like Darrin,Randy and Todd are headed up for the evning fishing. The wind is out of the ESE gusting to 20 mph. The surface water temps when we went out friday were any where from 44 to 49 degrees. If the guys show up today will have a short fishing report tomorrow. Might try the river down buy the mouth tonight. Went for a walk down where my dad had his lakeshore property. Found plenty of foam bobbers, and anything else that could float to shore. What a shame to see so much liter. Alot of small propane bottles, candles and bottles. Kellie and I will be going down there again to pick up some of the trash and gather a few more bobbers. COOKIE

Maple_LakeIt has been awhile sence I have been up there, say about two weeks. I was just wondering what's happening up there and is there any fish near the culvarts or coves. Are there any docks in yet?
Upper_Red_LakeBUck no morels yet, but thursday or friday should be about the right time. We have not gotten any rain yet and that sure would be nice. Went for a ride today where we always see moose tracks and see how dry the swamps are. Figure if I keep going out there I will see a moose some day. Did see some tracks. I"ve seen tracks out there every time I've been out there. Sure would be cool to see one in the wild. Colleen Hillmen saw one last year just out of town. Ole left today getting ready to go home to Alaska for the summer. Said the best way to see Alaska is drive there. 3200 hundred miles man will that be along drive. WE will try and go some day. The wind has been out of the east all day and there were a few fishermen out there. Fished a little buy the river last night, only one walleye. Maybe try again tomorrow. Good luck on the move. COOKIE
Leech_LakeTHANK YOU SO MUCH EXACTLY YOU FREAK BOBBY!! ISH!!
Upper_Red_LakeCookie, Find any Morel mushrooms yet? I haven't been been able to make up north for a few weeks and don't know of any good areas down here to go. We hope to be making our move up north in a month or two, can't wait to get out of the cities and be back in God's country.
Mille_LacsI was wondering if anyone knew the water temps currently. Will be going up to Garrison for opener. I would appreciate the help.
Lake_of_the_WoodsHello... What do you all consider to be the best value in terms of all-inclusive guided fishing resorts? Looking to hit Lake of the Woods but there are so many outfitters. Would be willing to try another lake or even venture into Canada if need be. Any advice? . Thanks. Rob
Mille_LacsUncle Dave I too will be heading up to the garrison area for some panfish action before opener. Was wondering what lake you were on. We were thinging about trying Borden or Farm Island... Any Advice??? Thanks, feel free to personal mail me too if you don't want to advertise your hot spot. Thanks, Fishandski
Lake_Superiorwe were back to park point lastnight (may 4). not a single fish on the lakeside of the point. tons of ice again.
Leech_Lakewhat the hell. XOXO, you flamer bobby, we're real men drinkin beer and fishin and your tryin to give us hugs and kisses, that aint what this site is for!!!!!
Debatable_Issuesdave what i meant was the dead beat dads will go fishing and not buy a lic. and the mn dnr will get the fine money if they get chougt and not the kids. so i dont see the need to give my ssn# to the dnr. I am not a dead beat dad!!have never been and never will.
Upper_Red_LakeI did not fish yesterday as I had pool. We are the champions and had a good time. The greek and Ole did get out but it was very choppy, they ended up with 15 fish. Jerry, Nick and Mark were all excited when they got here and thought the lake did not look to rough. They had a 18 foot alunmacraft? And had to walk it over 2 sand bars, this lake is decieving, when they got out there it was rougher then they thought, they ended up with 12 fish under rough conditions. They were fishing out from Hudecs in 5 feet of water. Sounds like there doing well down buy Rodgers also. The wind is gusty out of the SE. Have not went down to the lake today , but will check it out later. Been a lot of boats out in front of Hillmens but not sure how there all doing. Might be trying to stay out of the wind? Have not saw any boats fishing by any cribs I think it would be worth checking out. You will know when you find them as they eat jigs. I've heard some have no brush left in them, would need to look at them with a under water camara to verify. But was told buy a reliable source some have no brush ? Sure would be nice if they dredge out the mouth a little, not sure why they won't? If they want people at the camp grounds you would think that would be top priorty? Cookie
Debatable_IssuesYes, the "Lazy" fisherman will fish anyway, but when they get caught there will be a price to pay! No different tha ever. there is always a percentage of people who fish illegally (either keeping fish out of season, fishing w/o a license, keeping over limits, fishig for a species not currently in season (even if you are so kind as to throw them back-Many will die), etc. So for the deadbeats who don't wanna pay, I'm just happy I'm not paying for yourn kids!!!!!!!
Other_LakesI have ben fishing lake 15 and the crappie action has ben very slow. The cool nights have slowed the crappie bite on most lakes from what im hearing.also fished little cormront this, caught two crappies, the best I did all weekend.Wait for the nights to warm up a bit and start licking your chops.Good luck guys!
Mille_LacsWent up last weekend and fished a smaller lake in the Garrison area and did very well on large sunnies and just a few crappie. This weekend should be prime for the crappie. We fished a shallow, dark water bay in about 3-4 feet with our bobbers down about 1-2. We hammered the sunnies on waxies. Caught a few sunnies on minnows and the crappies all came on minnows. Between 2 of us we caught around 150 fish in 3 hours. Lots of small ones mixed in with some jumbos. It was just fun to get out and enjoy the weather and have some great action. WALLEYE soon!!!!!!!!!!!1
Lake_MinnetonkaJoe from Watertown: How would you know how good or bad the fishing is on Minnetonka unless you've been fishing it yourself? You are telling everyone else not to fish it, yet you are. You seem quite angry anyone would dare fish this lake (or should I say your lake). I hate to tell you, but ANYONE fishing legally has a right to wet a line in ANY lake or river in the state. If you want the fishing to improve, why don't you take your own advise and stop fishing for the next few years!
Upper_Red_LakeWell we found some fish, the greek and I went out in the morning and only got 5, We cam in to meet Bob and Tammy and Ole showed up. He got his turkey in Kansas and is now hooked on turkey hunting. The greek ,Kellie, Ole and I wennt out with the greeks 18 foot. We had to move from the front to the back of the boat as we went over the sand bars but were able to make it out. There are a couple stakes and You should go right along them. Make sure your motar is trimed up and go slow. Bob and Tammy followed in there 14 foot bayliner and had know problem. We went to the right in front of Hudecs an 6.6 feet of water and slowley drifted with bobbers and small crappie jigs. Tammy and Bob ended up with 27 slabs befor dark. We end up with 25 befor dark and decided to come in. What a buitiful day on the lake, the wind was non exsistent and had the rare occation of fishing on a calm redlake. It was almost like glass. The sunset was spectacular can not describe the beauty. Most of the fish we caught yesterday were in less then 6 feet of water and man were they scrappie. Will not be fishing today. The greek and Ole will be going out later today.. Gotta go Cookie
Debatable_Issuesthis year 04 was the worst winter in years that the icefishing in minn wasnt worth fishing to much baitfish in all thelakes does anyone agree
