Dawn Their isn't much for panfish or Bass In Lake Bemidji. It's pretty much a Walleye, Northern, Perch, and Muskie lake. You can go up the river to Stump Lake, and get some good Bass(largemouth) and Panfish action. As far as Smallmoth go we really don't have much for them in any of our lakes aroud here. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me!

We are thinking of taking the family to stay a week on Lake Bemidji. Kids love to catch sunfish and crappies. Are there any quanities of them in the lake. What about bass (large or small). If not what lake would you best recommend? Thanks

Bemidji Fishing Report. Reel Adventures Guide Service Well as most of you may have guessed fishing on the ice has pretty much become a thing of the past(until next winter). A few people are still walking out on some area lakes, but their conditions vary from lake to lake. Lake Bemidji was putting out Perch of Cameron bar in 22-25 ft of water. The ice is really separating from the shore, and with the weather forecast for the next week I think your best bet is to start working on the boat and spooling fresh line. The yearly sucker run should start in a week or so around April 17th. Of course Power Dam is the main attraction, but it's not the only spot to get the line wet for some tough Sucker action. Stream Trout opens Saturday the 12th. Although we may not have Minnesota's Best Trout streams we do have some fun ones. The Clearwater river will be stocked with rainbows and Browns soon and offers a good day on the river. Kabekona river also can be a fun place to hit. It's got some nice Brook trout in it. Just look for current breaks, such as eddies, deep pools in a bend, or behind objects such as rocks or timber. Sucker creek is another place worth a try. Stop in to see the DNR and they have maps avaliable to show the trout sections of these rivers. If you have any questions please feel free to call, or e-mail me. Good luck and God bless! Ann, I am a guide in the Bemidji area "Reel Adventures Guide Service". Lake Bemidji has some nice resorts to stay on. Ruttgers, and I believe it's sunrise lodge. Walleyes are great in the fall mid aug-oct. Lots of good size fish 6-11lbs. Early is great as well good numbers on the right days, but size is a little smaller. Muskies are fun all summer long! Get a hold of me if you have any questions. [email protected]

Fished bemidji mon-weds, and did ok on perch. Caught a few off of cameron and the university, but really got into em north of cameron around the grass point. on the north side of the droppoff in 35 ft of water. buckshot spoons or small jigs w/waxies. Yellow seemed to be the magic color. size was a little smaller than past years, with only a few over 10 inches. Caught over 100 fish tuesday, with 25-30 being small walleyes(6-13 inches). Gonna be some great walleye fishing in a couple of years.

Just thought a little good news would be nice to hear about on lake bemidji. I have been catching 13 inch perch consistantly throughout the day......10-20 or more! Also a few chunky 20 inch eyes are starting to perform right after the northern bite at dusk. If any one has good eye information on the lake let me know...toad

Went out on Bemidji last week Thursday. Caught 6 nice jumbo perch and one nice 4lb Northern. The bite is between 0600 and 0800 and the afternoon bite picks up somewhat around 1200-1400. Not sure about the night bite. Was fishing off the college point in between Library park. Been out a few times and have only caught fish on shiners.

Fished Big Wolf off and on for the last 20 years, seems live bait rigs or spinners work best in the day with cranks in the shallows at night working well. I will being going up the 1st week of October this year, good luck.
