We fished out of Arnesen's on Rocky Point on Jan 10th and 11th. Had lots of action on Friday with wind and cold. We were in 28' near Gull Rock. Saturday was slower but still produced some nice keepers.

Fished 5 mile reef on friday, 25 jumbo perch 4 keeper walleyes 25 small walleyes (released)

Other than the cold wind, a fun day on the lake, between the perch and the walleyes the two of us had a fish on the line about every 5 min.

Question, has anyone ever had any luck at night?

Found this web page and thought I would give you guys some info from the south shore. Fishing continues to be great. We have our people out in about 25-30 ft of water and have seen a lot of small fish with enough nice ones to make a limit. We seem to be seeing at least one nice 9+ walleye between the houses per day. We started letting trucks drive out last week.

Good luck fishing!!

Fishing has been great all over but I believe if your looking for the bigger ones its time to head out to the 5 mile reaf. Outside of there Long Point and Twin Islands have still been hot spots.

Fished out of Arnesen's 12/29 and 30. Large numbers of fish, but many small fish in 8"-12" range. DNR fella said they are the product of a strong 1999 year class. We got 4 fish in the 16"-20" range. Our shack was on the flats in approx 21' of water. On the second day, most people who did well were in 30' and over. We should have been there, too! All in all, a good time.

Group of 8 fished during 12/29-12/30. Lots of small saugers in 28-31 ft. Second day we really slaughtered the nice walleyes in shallow in the A.M. Cloudy, windy, and cold. About a mile North of Pine Island and in 13-15 feet. Lots of 17-18" and several over 22"

there is about 20 to 24 inches of ice on the lake of the woods in most spots and the reports of trucks going through the ice are untrue. As far as the fishing goes we are getting alot of little ones but most people are filling out with 12 to 14 inch walleyes and in deeper water they are getting keeper saugers I`ve been out about 6 times and have come home with enough fish to make it worth wild. Mostly been fishing by Twin Islands and straight out of Springsteal Resort.
