Louisiana Cat-fisherman here again. Experienced hard water fishin' for the first time last weekend. We went out of McQuoids on the south side. We caught 3 perch, 2 darters (little guys), and an Eelpout. We fished hard for 48 hours keeping live fatheads down on 6lb test the entire time. Got the perch and darters on larva (small fish so we used small hooks w/ euro larva) and the Eelpout on a Swedish Pimple glow tipped with a Fathead head. Walked around to bunch of houses asking for reports, and it sounds like we did better then most.

Good luck up there, I will be glad to slay the Crappie on the wet water this weekend.

I agree with the bad reports about dickies, a few friends and my self went out in december, was really looking forward to catching a great big walleye! But quess what all we caught was a PERCH! heater went out, had to flag down "so called care taker" to move us to the excutive suite, wasnt very excutive. OUR LUCK DIDNT CHANGE. dont waste time or money.

Its called fishing, not catching!!! And you dont have to have a "limit" to be successfull. I have heard some say it doesnt pay. Who ever said fishing paid? And yeah-pick up your garbage.

Fished this week on three different lakes and have found no fish that want to bite. Marking fish but they are not active at all. Each trip for crappies have only produced one or two. Hopefully towards the end of the week weather will stay calm and fish will get hungry. Does anyne know when the trout pond at the coon rapids dam is open for fishing?

I was hoping to get up to L.O.W. the weekend of the 17-20 with a few buddies. We are really hoping to get into some good walleye/sauger action. I was hoping to get a sleeper but every resort seemed to be full already. If there is a resort that still has sleepers available, let me know. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks (see e-mail above)

Last week I got 22 sunfish on Lake Osakis. 2 went 13 ounces and 9 went over a half pound. The smallest was a five ouncer I had to weed through some four ouncers, but still ended up with quality fish. I fished out from Head of The Lakes Resort in relitvaley deep water.

I have been catching lots of northerns on Pearl Lake Southwest of Saint Cloud. Fish of to the left of the access on in 10 to 15 feet of water. Use dead shiners and smelt. Caught over 100 in last week of fishing biggest goin just over 14 LBS. Bring plenty of leaders.

Bret- In late August, the best place on the chain to fish Perch is right at the mouth of Kitche, where the channel from the pug hole (aka pike hole) leads into Kitche. If you fish the reeds on both sides of the mouth, you will catch a nice mess of perch, and sometimes bluegills. Good Luck, Ace

Bret- One of the best spots that I've found on the chain for fishing perch and even bluegills in August is in Kitche, right at the mouth of the channel that leads to the pug hole. Fish the reeds on both sides, and you will catch a nice mess of perch. Ace

Fished URL on 1-5 and even though we didn't do as well on crappies as in past trips, we put some tip-ups out and had some really good pike action. had fish up to 37 inches. between the pike, walleyes, and perch it was a great time to be out there. the walleyes are definitely making a comeback. we were out about 6-7 miles from Hudecsl.

hey mike, my suggestion is to AVOID mille lacs and head for Winnie, the reports are are good from all around the lake and i know myself that the S.E side was very good to us about a week ago. mille lacs is dead,I was up to the lake three times recently and did no good. and we were mobile in fish traps and vexilars so i would steer clear.the bite is slow. maybe if you want to stick close to mille than try gull. it is also productive right now. thats all I know right now.

good luck, Jason

Heading up to McQuoid's on the 17,18,19 of this month. Any reports on the fishing from their houses, or anything on the south end? Does anyone know where they have their houses currently? What lure/time of day has been the best? I'll report on our fishing when I get back.
